چکیده

The purpose of this experimental study was to examine the creative constructs students enrolled in Differential Calculus at University Science and Technology Southern Philippines, Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines. This composed 132 engineering mathematics education two different semesters. group chosen randomly, exposed problem-based HALP model teaching approach problem posing while control taught using Polya’s problem-solving heuristics. Multiple Solution Tasks (MST) test administered determine their which can be measured terms level mathematical fluency, flexibility novelty solutions before after experiment. Results indicated that exhibited a remarkable improvement fluency but still developing when they are required posit novel problems as influenced by activities. Hence, it is recommended teachers may utilize these methods successfully develop students’ creativity future research also explored on integrating technology how influence student’s creativeness well mediating role affective domains IQ (intelligent quotient).

Creativity assessment in school settings through problem posing tasks

Research in math education on mathematical creativity relies on the idea that creativity is potentially within all students and it can be fostered by properly structured activities. The tasks most commonly used for its assessment are problem solving and problem posing. In our approach we use problem posing tasks to get insight into students’ creativity. Based on a qualitative analysis of the pa...
